From the past 22 years, SAWED has achieved commendable success in community service and emerged as one of the pioneer voluntary organisation in India.

Mission:

To care for the basic needs and priorities of the poorest, especially the women and children and empower them towards their overall development and self-reliance.

Objectives:

Rural women empowerment through skills training and awareness programmes.
To organize women self-help groups and help them to start income-generation projects.
To organize non-formal education centers for tribal children, street children and the school drop-outs.
To distribute school supplies and scholarships to the underprivileged children/students.
To provide care, shelter and education to the orphans.
To provide vocational training and livelihood programs to the underprivileged, illiterate and unemployed youth.
To provide health care and health education to the underprivileged rural community.
To up-lift and empower the vulnerable groups – physically challenged, people with HIV and widows/poverty victims.
To empower rural poor small farmers through sustainable agriculture, traditional seed conservation, organic farming, vermi-compost, agro forestry, watershed development and management.
To raise awareness on natural resources management, environmental conservation, climate change, wildlife protection, hiv/aids, diabetic, leprocy, tuberculosis, polio and other communicable diseases.
To provide relief and rehabilitation for the victims of conflict and natural disasters.

Governance:

SAWED TRUST is composed of two organs, the Board of Trustees and the Executive Department. Board of Trustees is the highest governing body that formulates polices & oversees implementation of the project and Executive Department is responsible for implementing the policies laid down by the Board of Trustees. All the projects of SAWED are reviewed and supervised by professionals and qualified staff members.
